2008 ROSE

WINEMAKING NOTES

This is the 4th Rose made from Askerne Vineyard and is predominantly made from Merlot grapes. the grapes were harvested on the 15th April 2008 at an average 23-24 brix.

The fruit was hand harvested and sorted. After being given some skin contact 50% of the juice for this wine was bled off from the balance of the merlot. the other 50% was crushed, destemmed then pressed. the resulting juice from each was then fermented in stainless steel tanks.

TA 6.1 g/l

Residual Sugar <2.0g/l

TASTING NOTES

Rich strawberry and honeysuckle characters on the nose follow through into the palate to produce this creamy textured, full flavoured Rose. Enjoy slightly chilled.

An ideal summer wine to serve with salmon or a salad featuring seared lamb.
